Access Temporarily Restricted to Wellington Dam

Important maintenance and improvement works will take place at Wellington Dam from January 2010 to late 2011.

The works form part of the Water Corporation's ongoing state-wide Dam Maintenance Program and are being carried out by the Wellington Dam Alliance.

For safety reasons, public access to the dam will be temporarily restricted during this period. Viewing will still be available from the existing lookout and access to the kiosk will be maintained.

Due these works the following facilities will be closed to the public for the duration of the works.
 
Areas CLOSED to the Public at Wellington Dam due to works on the Dam Wall by Water Corp:

• Quarry Picnic area
• Quarry Abseiling area
• Quarry car parks both the top and bottom carparks
• Access road past the Quarry

 Areas OPEN to the Public:

• Wellington Dam Kiosk
• Access - Wellington Dam Rd via the bridge below Dam and Falcon Road (Temporary Closures may occur during works)
• Car park at Wellington Dam Kiosk and Toilet facility

 ALTERNATIVE PICNIC AREAS for the Public:

• Potters Gorge Day Use Area (gas bbq)
• Lennard Drive Day Use sites (Rapids, Big Rock, Little Rock and Long Pool)
• Honeymoon Pool Day Use area (gas bbq)
